Split the class into four to five teams. Have students draw three different heights from a hat. Having chosen
three different heights, each team should drop the tennis balls from their respective heights. Heights
should be measured in units of meters as review for the students to measuring in the metric system.
One person from the team should time with a stopwatch the time for the ball to drop to the ground. Another
student from the team should record the times the it takes for the ball to drop to the ground.
(Note: record the time from when you let go of the tennis ball to right before the tennis ball hits the ground).
Students should repeat the procedure 5 times to obtain 5 data times due to human error of watching the tennis ball
fall to the ground. Students should then average their 5 time results to account for errors their time measurements.
